DAMAX Solutions conducted a Baseline Project Survey in Tabora Region to assess adolescent nutrition, sexual and reproductive health (SRH), and gender equality outcomes. Using an adapted Nutrition Information Management Systems (NIMS) toolkit, the study established a benchmark to track the project's progress and impact throughout its implementation.
The BRIGHT Project is a 7-year initiative advocating for greater equality, agency, and well-being among adolescents, empowering them to exercise their SRH and nutrition rights. The project places a special focus on young, in- and out-of-school, and pregnant (YIOP) girls, ensuring they receive the support needed to lead healthier and more informed lives.
To capture comprehensive insights, DAMAX employed a mixed-methods approach, utilizing structured and semi-structured questionnaires alongside qualitative interviews. The study engaged:
✅ 1,680 caregivers
✅ 1,680 in- and out-of-school adolescent girls
✅ 807 adolescent boys
✅ 160 healthcare providers & community health workers
✅ 160 law enforcement officers
✅ 80 school teachers
By gathering diverse perspectives, the study provides valuable data to inform evidence-based interventions, ensuring the BRIGHT Project effectively promotes gender equality, improved nutrition, and better SRH outcomes for adolescents in Tabora.
