The "Promoting Safe Sex among Adolescents in Tanzania" project aims to tackle the high prevalence of teenage pregnancy, early marriage, HIV, and sexually transmitted infections (STIs) among adolescents. Despite various public health interventions, many adolescents still lack access to sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services and education.

This study evaluates the effectiveness of both supply-side and demand-side interventions, including access to contraceptives and SRH education, in improving adolescent SRH outcomes. The study also examines whether involving both girls and boys in SRH interventions leads to better outcomes.

In 2018, DAMAX Solutions, in collaboration with BRAC Maendeleo Tanzania, conducted the endline evaluation to assess the overall success of the project. This phase compared the project's outcomes to baseline and midline data, focusing on the reduction of HIV and STI rates and improvements in safe sex practices among adolescents in Dodoma, Iringa, and Mbeya regions.

The endline evaluation provided a comprehensive assessment of the project's impact, highlighting the effectiveness of the interventions in achieving its goals and informing future SRH initiatives.
