DAMAX Solutions conducted an endline evaluation of the Kijana Jitambue Project to assess its performance against the targets outlined in the Results Framework and measure its impact on participants' lives.

The project successfully reached 70,449 beneficiaries, including 33,053 in-school adolescents through improved teaching and learning methods, 28,273 in-school adolescents engaged in empowerment groups (FEMA clubs), and 1,544 out-of-school adolescents receiving targeted support. To reach in-school adolescents, the project was implemented in 174 schools, of which 123 schools hosted FEMA clubs to provide mentorship and leadership development.

Beyond direct beneficiaries, capacity-strengthening efforts played a crucial role in sustaining impact. The project trained 40 community-based trainers and 3,615 teachers, while also supporting 2,175 Village Savings and Loan Association (VSLA) members through 108 established VSLA groups and 390 Youth Savings and Loan Association (YSLA) members through 22 established YSLA groups. Additionally, 1,184 new learners enrolled in 42 out-of-school learning centers, and 175 Ward Education Officers were engaged to oversee project implementation and sustainability.

This evaluation highlights the project's significant reach and transformative impact, particularly in enhancing education, financial inclusion, and empowerment for adolescents across the targeted regions.
