Malnutrition remains a critical health challenge in Tanzania, especially among adolescents and mothers. With 32% of women of reproductive age affected by anemia, Nutrition International, in collaboration with the Tanzanian government, has implemented targeted interventions, including Iron and Folic Acid (IFA) supplementation, Weekly Iron and Folic Acid (WIFA) supplementation, and the Birth Package (BP) program.

To evaluate these efforts, DAMAX Solutions conducted an endline survey in Mwanza and Simiyu using the Nutrition International Monitoring Survey (NIMS) toolkit. The study engaged 500 adolescent girls, 420 mothers, 38 healthcare providers, and 50 schools to assess anemia prevalence, supplementation adherence, and birth package utilization.

Findings will inform future policies to strengthen nutrition programs and healthcare access. Through these initiatives, Nutrition International continues to drive meaningful impact for maternal and adolescent health in Tanzania.
