
Niambie 2 is a five-years gender empowerment project which focuses on supporting young women and girls to make informed decisions regarding their social, economic, and political rights. The project aimed at building women’s and girls’ agencies and contributing to long-term social and behaviour change around the rights of women and girls in Tanzania. DAMAX was contracted to conduct a Mid-line Survey for Niambie 2 Project, to benchmark the achievement of the project outcomes. BBC Media Action, through DAMAX, conducted this midline evaluation to know how much of the media content is being accessed and consumed, the audience’s engagement with Niambie’s programmatic content, knowledge and understanding about the rights and benefits of young women and girls, the ability of young male and female audience to discuss and voice supportive views on gender equality. Ability to challenge gender-discriminatory norms, knowledge, and accessibility of gender-sensitive services. The evaluation was conducted in 16 regions covering 36 councils of Tanzania mainland and 2 zones (Unguja and Pemba) in Zanzibar. This quantitative study utilized ODK-programmed questionnaire to interview 3,000 female and male aged 15 years and above (Tanzania mainland 2679 while Zanzibar 323)
