Stakeholder Perception Survey for Geita Gold Mine

Mining plays a vital role in Tanzania’s economic growth, yet its social and environmental impacts are experienced unevenly across communities. In regions such as Geita, where large-scale mining operations coexist with local livelihoods, gaps in stakeholder engagement, environmental management, and benefit-sharing continue to shape public perception. These challenges influence trust, community wellbeing, and the long-term sustainability of mining activities.

To better understand these dynamics, Geita Gold Mine engaged DAMAX Solutions to conduct a Stakeholder Perception Survey to understand how mining operations are experienced across community, regional, and national levels.

Through structured interviews and participatory discussions, the study brought together local communities, government authorities, and other key stakeholders to capture diverse perspectives.

The survey examined both the benefits of mining activities, including employment opportunities and local development, as well as key concerns related to environmental and social impacts.

The findings provide a strong foundation for enhancing stakeholder engagement, strengthening relationships, and supporting informed, sustainable decision-making
