In collaboration with Regional and District HIV Control Coordinators and Village Executive Officers, DAMAX Solutions conducted a baseline survey for the SAUTI WORTH program across five regions: Shinyanga, Mbeya, Dar es Salaam, Njombe, and Iringa.
The survey interviewed 697 project beneficiaries, including Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) and Female Sex Workers (FSWs), who were selected from group members in these regions. The study assessed their:
✅ Literacy levels
✅ Business knowledge & income-generating activities
✅ Savings and loan status
✅ Attitudes towards HIV infections and risks
Additionally, DAMAX evaluated the availability of HIV test kits in both private and public health sectors, ensuring critical resources are accessible for effective HIV prevention and care.
This study provides data-driven insights to strengthen interventions that empower vulnerable groups, promote economic independence, and enhance HIV awareness and prevention efforts across Tanzania.
