DAMAX gathered baseline information on SAUTI WORTH group members with close cooperation from Regional and District HIV Control Coordinators and Village Executive Officers from Shinyanga, Mbeya, Dar es salaam, Njombe and Iringa regions. A total of 697 group members comprised of Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) and Female Sex Worker were interviewed to be able to gather information on: 

  • Their literacy levels
  • Business knowledge
  • Current income generating activities being pursued
  • Saving and loan status
  • The knowledge, attitudes and behavior relating to HIV infections and risks. DAMAX also provided support on assessing the availability of HIV test kits in private and   public sectors.

DAMAX worked closely with the Regional and District HIV Control Coordinators and Village Executive Officers to gather baseline information on WORTH group members on their literacy level, knowledge of business, current income generating activities being pursued, saving and loan status and knowledge, attitudes and behavior relating to HIV infections and risk. DMAX also assessed the availability of HIV test kits in private and public sector. A total of 697 project beneficiaries comprised of Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) and Female Sex Worker were interviewed from group members in Shinyanga, Mbeya, Dar es Salaam, Njombe and Iringa regions.
