DAMAX was contracted under the USAID Heshimu Bahari Project to conduct training on Marine Conservation Laws’ Compliance and Marine Biodiversity/Wildlife Crime Enforcement. The participants represent various key organizations, including the Ministry of Fisheries and Blue Economy, magistrates, officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), representatives from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), members of the Tanzania Police Force, Regional Fisheries Officers, Council Fisheries Officers, and Marine Park Officers from Tanzania Mainland and Zanzibar. The atmosphere is one of collaboration and learning, with a focus on enhancing their understanding of marine conservation laws and improving enforcement strategies to protect marine biodiversity and combat wildlife crime.
